Pink Nail Varnish Swatches!

Ok, this will probably be the last nail polish swatch post I do today, but I'm not making any promises.

Firstly we have Rimmel London's Lycra Wear 10 Nail Polish in 'Grape Sorbet'

Here's it on the nails:

This is a lovely metallic pale pink, it has this amazing velvet effect on the nails as you can see the brush strokes. The velvet effect creates a two-tone look to it which I really like.  It was really easy to apply and was almost perfect coverage in one coat.  I got this for £1.45 from discount beauty site Beauty Spot Cosmetics.

Next we have LA Colors Color Craze Nail Polish in 'Fuel'

Here's it on the nails:

This colour defines pink.  It is a super bright fuchsia with a pinky purple duo chrome, it's a bright statement colour and is really eye catching.  I got this for £1 at my local Harry Tuffins Store.

Lastly we have LA Colors Color Craze Nail Polish in 'Purple Passion'

Here's it on the nails:

The name for this one is quite deceptive as it's not actually purple.  It's a bright pink base with a purple duo chrome, I really like this colour, it's definitely for the braver nail polish wearers as it is super bright and eye catching.  I got this for £1 at my local Harry Tuffins Store.

And that's all my pinks. Speak to you soon beauty nerds! xx

Peach and Coral Nail Varnish Swatches!

Ok so this is going to be my shortest swatch post ever, as it only has two polishes in it, but they're awesome so it doesn't matter.

First we have Rimmel London's 60 Second Nail Polish in '440 Sunny Side'

Here's it on the nails:

This is a beautiful pinky coral with gold glitter in it, the glitter is so fine you really can't feel it at all, which is great as I really don't like the feel of glitter on my nails.  Let's take a better look at the glitter:

The glitter really helps the colour catch the light, this looks absolutely beautiful on a sunny day. I got this for £1.45 from discount beauty site Beauty Spot Cosmetics.

And last but not least, we have LA Colors Color Craze Nail Polish in 'Apricot'

Here's it on the nails:

As you could tell by the name, this is a beautiful peachy apricot colour.  It has a peach base with a gold duo chrome, it's absolutely incredible in the light, it's not quite nude, yet not super bright, it's a perfect statement nail colour.

And that's it for my peaches and corals, I am desperate to get more. Speak to you soon beauty nerds! xx

Orange Nail Varnish Swatches!

I did warn you that there'd be an influx today.  Orange was definitely the colour I spent the most time wearing this summer, it's so fun, bright and eye catching which is exactly what you want from a summer nail varnish, so here they are.

Firstly we have LA Colors Art Deco Nail Polish in 'Bright Orange'

And here's it on the nails:

This is an amazing, bright, obnoxious traffic cone orange.  The formula is thicker than the yellow from this range, but the thin brush does still make it a little difficult to apply, but it's worth it for this awesome colour.  I got his for £1 at my local Harry Tuffins Store.

Next we have Rimmel London's I <3 Lastine Finish Nail Polish in '50 Tangerine Queen'

Here's it on the nails:

And as the name suggests it's a bright tangerine colour.  This colour was so easy to apply and the formula is thick and provides great coverage.  I got this for around £2.99 from my local pharmacy.

Next we have Rimmel London's Lyrca Wear 10 Nail Polish in '347 Tequila Sunrise'

Here's it on the nails:

This is a bright blood orange colour.  A dark orange with a very red base, I love this colour, it reminds me of tropical islands and fancy cocktails.  I got this for £1.45 from discount beauty site Beauty Spot Cosmetics.

Next we have LA Colors Color Craze Nail Polish in 'Perfect Sunset'

Here's it on the nails:

This colour is beautiful, there are no better ways to describe it.  It is a beautiful pure orange with a gold and pale orange iridescence, I absolutely adore this colour, and it's not too sheer either, it covers really well in two coats.  I got this for £1 at my local Harry Tuffins Store.

Lastly we have LA Colors Color Craze in 'Tahiti Sunrise'

Here's it on the nails:

This colour is amazing!  It's a deep blood orange with a fuchsia duo chrome, it's fun.  It covers really well in two coats.  I got this for £1 at my local Harry Tuffins Store.

And that's all my oranges for now.  Speak to you soon beauty nerds! xx

Yellow Nail Varnish Swatches!

Hey beauty nerds! It's been a while since I last posted nail varnish swatches, but fear not, I have been doing them, I just haven't had the time to sit and upload them.  So there'll be an influx of them today.  It's time for the yellows, of which I have three. Yellow, was definitely one of my favourite summer colours. So here goes.

Firstly we have LA Colors Art Deco Nail Polish in 'Yellow'

And here's what it's like on the nails:

It's a very bright lemon yellow, which I really like.  But I do have some issues with it's application, firstly, the formula is quite thin, so it is naturally uneven, and secondly, as the brush is a fine nail art brush it's also very difficult to coat the nails with colour before it starts to dry, so you end up with a very uneven finish, like in the picture.  If I were to apply it again, I'd definitely use a much thicker brush, either from an old nail polish or from a nail art brush set.  I bought this for £1 at my local Harry Tuffins Store.

Next we have Rimmel London's I <3 Lasting Finish Nail Polish in '55 Sunshine'

Here's it on the nails:

This is more of a sunshine yellow than a lemon like the last polish. Though they do look very similar.  The application for this colour is much easier and the formula is much thicker.  I really love this bright yellow.  I got this for around £2.99 at my local pharmacy.

Here's the two bright yellows swatched next to each other just to show the difference:

There we go, the middle left is Rimmel and the middle right is LA Colors, you can see the slight difference between them as the Rimmel is a slightly warmer colour than the LA Colors.

Lastly we have LA Colors Color Craze Nail Polish in 'Seashell'

Here's it on the nails:

This is a beautiful shimmery pale golden yellow.  This is a little sheer even with two coats, so three will probably be needed for the best coverage.  I adore this colour, it's my favourite out of the yellows.  I got this for £1 at my local Harry Tuffins Store.

So that's all my yellows for now.  Speak to you soon beauty nerds! xx

Sleek Curacao I-Divine Palette Look: Rainbow Eyes

I was going to post the Monaco Palette look before this as it was filmed before it etc. But me being stupid, I forgot to take photos of the look, so I'll need to redo it and take photos before I can post it, so instead I'm posting the Curacao look, which is aptly named Rainbow eyes, as you can't really look at the palette and not see rainbows. It's a really fun and bright look so I hope you enjoy it!

The products used in this look are:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance - around £5 from Ebay
Sleek Curacao I-Divine Palette - £6.49 from Sleek Website
Collection 2000 Super Size Fat Lash Mascara in 'Black' - £2.99 from Boots

Lips:
Sleek Pout Paint in 'Peek A Bloo' - £4.99 from Sleek Website
Sleek Pout Paint in 'Minx' - £4.99 from Sleek Website
Sleek Pout Paint in 'Peachy Keen' - £4.99 from Sleek Website

How To Cheat at a French Mani

Hello, there! Well, I figured out a way to make a French Mani easier than using globs of white "French Tip" polish. I got the idea from bubzbeauty on YouTube, and tweaked it a little, to use what I had. Here are pics of the finished product:

Ya like my Hello Kitty spoon? Got it at Yogurtland. Hellz yeah.

The pics don't do it justice. I mean, it's not GLITTER, but it still makes the mani look polished and clean with that extra oomph. It shimmers like a Twilight vampire's skin... D: I might do a video tutorial on it; I might not. I don't think I'd be very good at editing, but we'll see.

Battle Of The Boxes: Boudoir Prive VS GlossyBox Aug 2011

Welcome to my first Battle Of The Boxes!  Here's the first review, and it's of the Boudoir Prive Box:

And here's my second review, it's of the GlossyBox and a comparison between the two:

And the winner is.................
                             ..................
............. Boudoir Prive!  Personally I thought the Boudoir Prive box felt more personal and luxurious, whereas the GlossyBox felt a little cheap.  It wouldn't be fair to make a conclusion based on these boxes alone as it's Boudoir Prive's first box, and things might change, so we'll have to see what happens in Battle Of The Boxes next month!

I'll be posting reviews of the products after I've tested them, either at the end of this month or the beginning of next month.  See you soon beauty nerds! xx

ST:TNG Captain's Shirt Look

Ok, guys. Bare with me, as I attempt a tutorial of a makeup look inspired by Picard's and Riker's shirts in Star Trek: The Next Generation. Here we go:

First prime your eyelids, to prevent your eyeshadow from creasing. I used Soft Ochre Paint Pot by MAC.

Next, with my Sephora Double-Ended Smudge/Shadow brush, I pat on Addicted (a red mineral shadow w/ shimmer) by Beauty From The Earth, covering 3/4 of the eyelid.

With my Sephora #13 rounded crease brush (a fluffy brush with a dome shape), I take Tijuana from the Kat Von D Memento Mori palette and put that in the crease, and cover the remaining 1/4 of my lid. Make sure you blend it out really well.

With the Smudge end of the Sephora Smudge/Shadow brush, I take a little more Tijuana and lightly smudge it under the lower lashline.

Next, as your highlight, under your browbone, take Agatha Pink (a light peach with shimmer, or you can use something close to your skin tone), from the Memento Mori palette on your shadow brush and lightly sweep it on, blending out the crease color.

Now, for mascara! Curl your lashes. I'm using the Tarte Eyelash Curler.

Apply your favorite mascara. I'm using the Urban Decay Skyscraper Multi-benefit Mascara.

You can stop here, if you like, but I wanted to intensify the look, to look dark, mysterious and... Star.. Trekky... so I used the Rimmel Eye Kohl in 061 Jet Black on my waterline.

That's it! Here's the finished look!

I hope you Trekkies, Trekkers, and makeup geeks liked this look. This was just something quick that I thought of, with nothing else done to the face. Foundation, powder and lips can really be anything, depending on your preference. Please leave comments below if you liked this look!
